Nigeria’s presidential election is fast approaching, and Sen. Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has called on Nigerians to vote, despite the scarcity of new naira notes.

In a news conference held in Abuja, Baba-Ahmed urged Nigerians not to allow the shortage of new naira notes to deter them from exercising their right to vote on February 25.

The senator appealed to Nigerians not to relent but to come out and vote against all odds to end the cycle of challenges and suffering in the country. Baba-Ahmed also called on Nigerians to hold him and his Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, responsible if they failed to move Nigeria from a consumption-based economy to a productive one.

In addition, the senator called on Nigerians to hold them accountable if they failed to build a 21st-century economy propelled by technology, the required human capital and skill, cut waste in government, or fight corruption. The duo is promising Nigerians leadership with character, competence, knowledge, and compassion.

The senator emphasized that next Saturday, Nigerians will be making the most important decision in the history of the country. This decision will determine and shape the future of Nigeria.

Baba-Ahmed implored Nigerians to take their anger to the polls and vote out those who have impoverished them through bad governance, even if they are angry with the country’s leadership.

Nigeria faces existential threats due to very poor leadership and irresponsible governance, according to Baba-Ahmed. However, the arrival of LP and its leader, Peter Obi, who has changed the dynamics of Nigerian politics, gives Nigerians hope that a new Nigeria devoid of bad leadership, insecurity, and corruption is possible.

According to the senator, LP’s supporters invested in energy and emotions because they could see their sincerity and commitment. Baba-Ahmed called on all Nigerians of goodwill, who care about the youths, to come out en masse and vote LP.
