President Bola Tinubu made a grand return to Nigeria on Tuesday, arriving at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport from London, where he had been on an official trip, News About Nigeria reports.

The President’s plane touched down precisely at 05:13 pm, and he was warmly received by a jubilant crowd of supporters and prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The arrival ceremony was made even more vibrant by the presence of the Presidential Guards, dressed in their distinctive and colorful uniforms.

This journey marked President Tinubu‘s first official trip abroad since assuming office as Nigeria’s new leader on May 29, 2023.

The President had previously attended the New Global Financial Pact summit held at the Palais Brongniart in Paris, France. Alongside other world leaders, such as French President Emmanuel Macron, Tinubu engaged in discussions and negotiations during the two-day summit.

Following the conclusion of the event, he traveled to London, United Kingdom, for a brief and private visit.

According to the President’s spokesman, Dele Alake, Tinubu’s visit to London was of a personal nature.

The intention was for him to take some time for rest and relaxation before returning to Nigeria to celebrate the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir festivities, which are scheduled for June 28 and 29, 2023.

The President’s return was eagerly anticipated, as it signaled his active participation in the national celebrations.

Throughout his trip, President Tinubu had the opportunity to engage with international leaders and discuss critical issues that affect Nigeria’s global standing.

The New Global Financial Pact summit provided a platform for collaborative efforts and the forging of new partnerships to bolster the nation’s economy.
