Kylian Mbappe has recently confirmed that he has not engaged in any discussions regarding a contract renewal with Paris Saint-Germain, as reported by News About Nigeria.
The uncertainty surrounding Mbappe’s future at PSG has given rise to numerous speculations, particularly due to his decision not to sign a new contract with the club, which is set to expire in 2024.
Several sources have linked the talented player with a potential move to Manchester United in England. Although this speculation may not hold true at present, it is evident that PSG would prefer to sell him during the current summer transfer window to maximize profits rather than allow him to leave for free in 2024.
The exact valuation that PSG would place on a player of Mbappe’s caliber has not been specified. Nonetheless, it is undeniable that numerous clubs would eagerly vie for his signature, regardless of the price tag.
In an interview with the Associated Foreign Press, Mbappe revealed that he had informed PSG about his decision not to extend his contract beyond 2024 back in July 2022. The recent letter he sent to the club’s management served as confirmation of the agreement made almost a year ago.
“I have never discussed any contract renewal with PSG. The board has been informed since July 15, 2022, of my decision not to extend beyond 2024. The letter sent was only meant to confirm what I had already communicated to them,” stated Mbappe.
Since joining PSG from Monaco in 2017 for a sum of up €180 million, the 24-year-old Mbappe has become an integral part of the French giants. PSG has previously turned down several offers from Real Madrid for the player, with the most recent bid amounting to €200 million on the summer transfer deadline day.
