Hypocrite: MC Pilot Calls Out Seyi Law After Comments On Obidients

Popular Nigerian comedian MC Pilot has called out his fellow stage performer Seyi Law, saying he is a hypocrite, following comments on social media, News About Nigeria reports.

The comedian stated this in a video he posted on Twitter titled: “Message to my brother @seyilaw1.”

The post showed MC Pilot asking Law where he was when some Yoruba men were being intimidated “including myself,” he said.

Seyi Law had in a tweet on Wednesday said he will not reject his heritage, to live as a king elsewhere.

“If you think defending my heritage, culture, traditions, and traditional institutions is hustling for my stomach, so be it. I would rather be a beggar amongst my people than denigrate it to live as a king amongst foreigners.”

The comedian was taking on the ‘Obidients’ (Peter Obi supporters), who disagreed with the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, for his recent statement to accept the presidential election that saw Bola Ahmed Tinubu into power.

However, MC Pilot seems to disagree with Law, recalling how he kept quiet when other Yoruba elder statesmen like Olusegun Obasanjo, Bishop David Oyedepo and revered Pa Ayo Adebanjo were insulted and called names for supporting Obi during the recently concluded Presidential election.

MC Pilot went further to say that while some people think the Obidients are attacking the revered Kings of Yoruba land, he holds a contrary opinion.

In his words, the comedian said “It’s not that the Obidients are attacking our Kings, the rulers of Yoruba land. No, these same kings, irrespective of which part of the country they come from, have been given powers by our ancestors to always stand by the truth,” he said.

“Our ancestors gave them powers to support fairness, peace, equality, justice, not injustice,” he continued.

MC Pilot noted that whenever a leader goes contrary to the values they stand for, the people will come for them because the people are the ones directly affected by decisions made by the elected leaders.

Recall that affected parties in the February 25 presidential elections have approached the election tribunal, to challenge and seek redress in the process that brought Tinubu to power.

Some Nigerians were thrown aback following the call for peace by the Ooni of Ife, to forget the outcome of the election and pledge support to Tinubu’s administration.
