Nigerian rapper Keshinro Ololade, popularly known as Lil Kesh, has spoken publicly for the first time after surviving a violent attack in Lagos that left him with serious injuries.
The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, involved a group of unidentified assailants who reportedly ambushed the 30-year-old artiste in an attempt to snatch his jewellery, including a gold necklace.
In the struggle, Lil Kesh was stabbed in the neck and part of his ear, leaving him bloodied before he was rushed to the hospital.
Doctors were able to stitch his wounds and stabilise him, a move that quickly eased the fears of fans who had been alarmed by disturbing photos of the aftermath circulating on social media.
Breaking his silence through his Instagram story, Lil Kesh described the ordeal as an unexpected “curveball” from life but expressed gratitude for surviving.
“Life threw me a curveball, but I’m safe, healing, and blessed to be here. Grateful for the love, support and prayers,” he wrote.
The incident adds to growing concerns about the rising cases of violent robbery attempts in Lagos, particularly targeting celebrities and individuals displaying luxury items.
For many Nigerians, Lil Kesh’s experience serves as both a warning about insecurity and a reminder of the fragile line between fame and danger.
Fans have since flooded social media with prayers and encouraging messages, many relieved by his update and reassured that he is recovering.
As Lil Kesh continues his healing process, supporters remain hopeful that the ordeal will not slow down his music career but instead fuel his comeback with renewed strength.
