The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has attacked Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, following his decision to rejoin the All Progressives Congress.

Jandor, who was the PDP’s governorship candidate in the 2023 elections, announced his return to the APC at a press conference in Lagos on Monday.

News About Nigeria reports that earlier this month, he had resigned from the PDP, saying the party lacked discipline and that he had been betrayed by its leaders.

Before joining the PDP, Jandor was a member of the APC.

His defection back to the ruling party has sparked reactions from PDP leaders in Lagos, who claimed he was never truly committed to their party.

Tai Benedict, the deputy chairman of Lagos PDP, dismissed Jandor’s time in the party, alleging that he was an agent sent to weaken their chances in the election.

According to him, Jandor caused internal conflicts within the PDP, making it difficult for the party to function properly.

He also criticized Jandor for choosing his running mate without consulting party leaders, arguing that this approach harmed their chances in the election.

Despite the loss of a party member, Benedict stated that Jandor’s departure was not a setback, saying that his presence had done more harm than good.

Meanwhile, the APC has welcomed Jandor back, describing his return as a homecoming.

The party’s publicity secretary, Seye Oladejo, said the APC is ready to work with him, noting that he has the opportunity to contribute to the party’s growth.

Oladejo dismissed the PDP’s claim that Jandor was planted by the APC, calling it an excuse for the opposition party’s internal struggles.

He also disclosed that more politicians would soon switch to the APC as the next election approaches.
