Bauchi Gov Blames APC For PDP Crisis

Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State and chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, has expressed his willingness to collaborate with Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate.

News About Nigeria gathered that the statement came after Obi visited him at the state’s presidential lodge in Bauchi on Thursday for discussions on national issues.

According to Mohammed, their conversation centered on tackling poverty and criminal activities, with Obi now recognized as a leading figure in the opposition.

The Bauchi governor said that working together would strengthen governance and provide a more effective opposition in the country.

He assured that PDP governors support this kind of political alliance, which goes beyond party lines and focuses on national development.

“I want to say at this level, not to make some of those doubting Thomases and mischievous minds to pre-empt what we are doing, that I’m ready to work with Peter Obi.

“We will make sure we come together, close ranks, bring good governance to the country, give vibrant opposition with knowledge, timelines, visions in such a manner that we will rescue and recover our country”, he said.

Obi, on his part, explained that the meeting was an opportunity to discuss the state of the country, particularly challenges facing the northern region.

He pointed out that addressing poverty should be a top priority, as it is closely linked to crime.

According to him, without reducing poverty, efforts to improve security will not be successful.

Obi also stressed the need for increased investment in key sectors to improve the lives of Nigerians.
