Queen Lateefah, a Nollywood movie produced by popular actress Wunmi Toriola has continued to break records in the cinemas weeks after it was first shown.

According to the available data, the movie has grossed a total sum of N317 million at the box office, News About Nigeria reports.

Queen Lateefah exemplifies Toriola’s talent for storytelling, bringing the Nigerian experience to life in a compelling way.

Produced and distributed by Cinemax, Queen Lateefah has emerged as one of Nollywood’s top-grossing films of 2024, based on available data.

Released on September 27, 2024, the movie earned N58 million by the end of its first three-day weekend, making it the highest-grossing Nigerian film during a non-holiday weekend in 2024.

By the following month in October, it had generated a combined N216 million in revenue to emerge as one of the top earners in Nigerian cinema history.

Queen Lateefah sustained box office success because of its wide appeal and strategic and effective distribution mechanics.

Speaking on the movie’s success, Ope Ajayi, who is the founder of Cinemax, said the organisation is committed to connecting filmmakers and their audiences who are impatiently waiting for the right narratives.

As of November 3, Queen Lateefah officially crossed the N300 million mark to peak at N317 million.

This milestone places the film among Nollywood’s most successful productions, underscoring the industry’s potential for large-scale commercial success.
