The National Space Research and Development Agency (NARSDA) has stated that it will partner with the Defence Space Administration (DSA) in strengthening the country’s space technology, News About Nigeria reports.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Director of Media and Corporate Communications, NASRDA, Dr. Felix Ale.
He noted that during a visit on Thursday to the DSA Headquarters in Abuja, NASRDA Director General, Dr. Matthew Adepoju expressed the agency’s commitment to working closely with various stakeholders within Nigeria’s space ecosystem.
He stated that the collaborative partnership will advance innovative solutions aimed at national development.
He further noted that the partnership will focus on crucial areas such as data sharing, data centre integration, and information and communication infrastructure development.
Adepoju outlined these initiatives as part of NASRDA’s strategic efforts to promote the advancement of space technology across Africa.
He stated, “NASRDA is committed to working with relevant sectors to strengthen and regulate Nigeria’s space industry for the growth and development of the nation.
“As part of its strategic efforts to promote the development of space technology in Africa, NASRDA will work with the Defence Space Administration in areas of data sharing, data centre integration, and ICT infrastructure to store data securely for mutual benefits.”
Speaking also, the Chief of the Defence Space Administration, Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Oluwatoyin, praised the ongoing support from NASRDA.
He remarked on the importance of fostering strong working relationships between the two agencies to leverage space technology for the benefit of all Nigerians.
“We need to encourage strong working relationships to maximise the benefits of space technology for the benefits of Nigerians,” he stated.
