Abdulrahman Lekki, the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Scholarship Board, is dead, News About Nigeria reports.
The governor’s aide died in the early hours of today (Wednesday, 30th October 2024) after a brief illness.
Lekki’s death was announced in a statement from the office of the Lagos State Head of Service on Wednesday.
In the statement, the Lagos State government prayed for the repose of the soul of the dead, adding that his funeral date would soon be communicated.
The statement also described Lekki as a thoughtful young man who was committed to the growth of the state scholarship board.
Lekki was also said to be a jolly good fellow who would be greatly missed not just by his family but by colleagues and the entire Lagos State government.
The statement further noted that though Lekki left the earth while in active service, he has been able to leave a mark of diligence and commitment, adding that he would forever be remembered for his active service to the state scholarship board and humanity at large.
The statement partly reads, “With the total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, the Head of Service announces the sudden demise of Mr. Abdulrahman Lekki, Executive Secretary, Lagos State Scholarship Board, which occurred in the early hours of today, 30th October 2024, after a brief illness. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.”
The state government also consoled the family of the deceased, praying that God would give them the fortitude to bear the tragic demise.
