‘Selective Activism’: Dammy Krane Calls Out Verydarkman Amid Falana Case Ruling

Nigerian singer Dammy Krane has publicly criticised internet personality VeryDarkMan (VDM) following a recent court ruling requiring VDM to retract alleged defamatory statements made against the Falana family.

In a video posted on Instagram on October 15, 2024, Dammy Krane commented on the ongoing legal battle, alleging that VeryDarkMan showed him biased support earlier in the year when he advocated on his behalf in a separate case involving singer Davido.

In August 2024, when Dammy Krane accused Davido of owing him money for a collaboration and was reportedly detained, VeryDarkMan had posted on social media supporting Krane’s release.

However, in his latest post, Dammy Krane said he was disappointed, saying that VDM’s support was superficial and lacked thorough investigation.

“I feel like God is using this Falana case to show VDM that he didn’t do right by me,” Krane remarked, claiming that VeryDarkMan had not examined the evidence before publicly siding with him.

The singer accused VeryDarkMan of “selective activism” and favouritism, alleging that VDM’s support wavered in his own case, where he claimed Davido owed him money for songs.

He also referenced another incident, stating that VeryDarkMan did not fully consider the details or context of his accusations.

Krane stated that VeryDarkMan’s selective approach left him feeling unsupported, particularly given that he was only restating claims made by authorities in other cases, such as the Dangote matter.

Dammy Krane added that while VeryDarkMan later urged him to apologise for his statements, he refused to do so, claiming he was only telling the truth.

“He was doing selective activism based on favouritism. Later you’d say I should apologise and say I lied and I was trying to tell him that I couldn’t apologise for saying the truth because they have no evidence against me. I was only illegally destined.

“If I had apologised, they’d have had evidence to carry me to court. That’s what they’re doing with him; after he apologised, now it’s 500 million,” he added.
