Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, revealed on Tuesday that he is consoled knowing that his daughter, Fatima, died at her appointed time.
News About Nigeria earlier reported that the 25-year-old died last Friday after battling an undisclosed illness.
Her burial was held on the same day in line with Islamic rites with the funeral prayers held at Annur Mosque in Abuja.
Speaking in a statement on his official X account days after Fatima’s burial, Kyari expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support following the passing of his daughter.
Reflecting on her life, the NNPC boss described her departure as occurring at her appointed time, as he expressed hope of reuniting with her in Jannah by Allah’s grace.
He further noted that despite her physical challenges, Fatima was able to touch the lives of many while she was on earth.
The statement reads, “My daughter Fatima departed at her appointed time and looking forward to meeting her in Jannah by Allah’s grace. While the loss is great by all measures, we remain grateful to God for all his mercies. I didn’t know the depth of her connections with many people and what she meant to many. Despite her physical challenges, she is able to touch hearts in very soothing ways, including me.
“Above all, her demise brought many people together and demonstrated that we all can care for others irrespective of our social circumstances. I profoundly thank our leaders, family members, friends, associates, colleagues, our teachers, and the countless unmentioned who joined us to pray for the repose of her soul and for consoling us.”
