Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has sympathised with the Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, over the tragic loss of his daughter, Fatima.
News About Nigeria earlier reported that Fatima died yesterday (Friday). The 25-year-old reportedly died after a protracted illness.
Reacting to the tragedy in a condolence message released in Abuja by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, the APC national chairman described the passing of Kyari’s daughter as a great loss, not only to the family but also to those who cherished her.
He further noted that no amount of words can fully capture the pain of losing a child, praying that God gives the family and her friends the fortitude to bear the loss.
The APC chieftain also prayed for the repose of the soul of the dead saying, “We pray that Almighty Allah grants the departed eternal rest and gives the family the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mallam Mele Kyari and his entire family in this very difficult moment.”
Similarly, on Friday, President Bola Tinubu commiserated with Kyari and his family over Fatima’s tragic death.
Speaking in a condolence message conveyed in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu noted that the loss of a child is usually unbearable.
He therefore prayed that God would help the NNPC boss and his family to be able to bear the painful loss.
The statement partly reads, “The President sympathises with Kyari and the rest of the family on the irreparable and painful loss.”
The President also prayed for the repose of Fatima’s soul, urging her family to stay strong during these trying times.
