NNPC Boss Speaks After Daughter's Death, Says She Died At Appointed Time

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari has lost his 25-year-old daughter, Fatima, News About Nigeria reports.

The late Fatima died today and has been buried according to Islamic rites with the funeral prayers held at Annur Mosque in Abuja on Friday.

News About Nigeria reports that her demise was made public by the vice president, Kashim Shettima, in his condolence message to the NNPCL boss and his family.

The vice president, who did not give details on her tragic demise, led other mourners at her funeral prayers held at Annur Mosque in Abuja.

Shettima, in his condolence, which was conveyed in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha, prayed for the peaceful repose of Fatima’s soul.

He further asked God to grant the Kyari family the strength to bear the painful death of their daughter.

The statement reads, “Vice President Kashim Shettima has condoled with the family of the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Mele Kyari, over the loss of his daughter, Fatima Kyari. Aged 25, the late Fatima passed away on Friday. VP Shettima, who prayed for the peaceful repose of the late Fatima, asked God to grant the family the strength to bear the painful exit of their daughter, who was in her prime. The Vice President led other mourners at the funeral prayers, which were held at the Annur Mosque in Abuja.”
