'Delete Defamatory Post Against Falana, Falz' - Court Orders VeryDarkMan, Slams Him N500m For Libel

Popular Nigerian social media activist, Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan has apologised to human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) over his derogatory statement against the latter.

News About Nigeria recalls that in a video shared on his official Instagram account last week, VeryDarkMan stated that Bobrisky paid Falana N15 million bribe.

In the viral video, VeryDarkMan also insinuated that Falana’s son, Folarin popularly known as Falz, is also assisting Bobrisky because he is homosexual.

Following his claim, both Falana and Falz threatened to drag him to court if he failed to delete the video and also apologise to them publicly.

VeryDarkMan, however, failed to meet their demands of retracting the video and public apology within the 24-hour deadline given to him making the duo sue him for defamation of character among other charges.

In a new turn of events, while speaking at the House of Representatives today (Monday), the activist said he also did not believe Falana was involved in the alleged bribery levelled against Bobrisky, the EFCC, and the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS)

He further noted that he has realised that some people are now trying to destroy Falana’s name because he mentioned him in the video.

He said, “Apparently now, some people are taking the advantage of what is going on to target Femi Falana. I’ll like to say here and now that I apologise to him, it’s so sad that his name was inside that audio, I couldn’t believe as well; that is the part that irritated me more which I said I refuse to believe that he is a party to something like that.”
