I’m Ready For Investigation, Bobrisky Says

Nigerian social media personality Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has responded to allegations that he served a six-month jail term in a private apartment, declaring that he is prepared for any investigation.

The allegations emerged after a voice note shared by Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, went viral.

In the recording, Bobrisky allegedly claimed that his six-month sentence for the abuse of naira notes was served in a private apartment, facilitated by his godfather and the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service.

Addressing these claims on Thursday night, Bobrisky spoke about concerns regarding a potential investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In a Facebook post, the influencer said that he was no longer afraid and was prepared to face any investigation, but on his own terms.

Bobrisky wrote, “Please, everyone calling to tell me the danger I am in and the plans against me should hold it now and fu*k it. I don’t want any threats no more.

“I was scared because of the story that EFCC will detain me again and I will be sentenced to prison a second time. God will vindicate me, and for those that want to frame me up, they will be exposed by the law.”

The social media personality said he is willing to cooperate with authorities, but called for an independent and transparent investigation.

He criticised attempts to use manipulated or fabricated audio recordings against him, promising to challenge such evidence in court.

“Anybody can alter any audio, add or frame any audio and put it out. Best of luck. I will meet you guys in any court this time around if you have any case against me,” he said.

Meanwhile, News About Nigeria reported that the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board has since suspended two senior officers from the Kirikiri Medium Custodial Centre in Lagos in connection with the allegations involving Bobrisky.
