Special adviser to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has advised the Labour Party (LP) to stop the blame games after elections and learn from their mistakes, News About Nigeria reports.
He said this in a statement via his verified handle on X on Thursday.
He noted that the Labour Party has gone around attacking institutions including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Security Services, for their loss during elections.
He stated that the LP went as far as claiming that the people of Edo capitulated and surrendered their will during the governorship election that was held in the state on Saturday.
He urged the party to stop blaming others and learn from their mistakes, adding that they should not rely on unscientific online polls where people from other states outvoted Edo people and gave Labour an edge.
He wrote, “First, the Labour Party attacked INEC. Then, the security services. And now, their candidate went on Channels TV to express his disappointment with the people of Edo for “capitulating”. Why not just stop whining and admit that you did not win? Blaming everyone but yourself.
“Instead of accusing INEC, law enforcement agents and the people of Edo, learn from your mistakes. Do not rely on unscientific online polls where people from other states outvoted Edo people and gave Labour an edge. Get your feet dirty on the ground. Be sensitive to power rotation and rein in your emotions.
“Learn from your error, or face a worse terror in 2027.”
