Dancing Gives Me Joy – Osun Governor

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has reacted to critics who said that all he does as a governor is dance.

In a statement via his verified X handle on Wednesday, he said that it gives him joy to dance, News About Nigeria reports.

This was in response to a tweep, Mallam Olawale who praised the governor for working for the state despite his jolly good nature.

He said, “I’m not flattering you, Your Excellency, your opponents think you can only dance but while they are busy shouting and calling you ‘Dancing Governor’, you are busy fulfilling your electoral promises to the people.”

The governor, however, noted that despite his love for dance, he still finds time to deliver on his electoral promises, adding that it gives him greater joy to provide the dividends of democracy to the people of Osun State.

He disclosed that the rehabilitation of primary health centers is ongoing in at least 200 out of 332 wards, and added that road constructions are also ongoing in every local government in the state.

Adeleke wrote, “Dancing gives me joy, but delivering on my electoral promises and providing the dividends of democracy to the good people of Osun gives me even greater joy.

“Rehabilitation of primary health centers is ongoing in at least 200 out of 332 wards, and road construction is progressing in every Local Government.”

Netizens have taken to the social media to react to the stance of the governor.

@therealchinwe stated, “Oh, you’ve got the rhythm of progress! While dancing brings that sparkle of joy, nothing beats the pure satisfaction of seeing your promises turn into real, lasting change for the amazing people of Osun. From restoring health centers to paving the way—literally!—your work is a beautiful dance of dedication, one step at a time. And trust me, the moves you’re making on the ground are worthy of a standing ovation! Keep shining, you’re giving democracy a whole new groove!

@cuppydatman wrote, “You’re actually an humble governor and you take life so simple.

@Reech_Tio said, “Thanks for fixing the Road at Ogo-Oluwa, the Road almost killed a friend; thanks for the health plan for retired Civil servants; thanks for the Road constructions; we can see imole in the Capital already; Osogbo is too small to not have beautiful things, thanks for being good.
