The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries has responded to online mockery surrounding a recent testimony, stressing that the church does not fabricate stories.
Pastor Chidi Louis, Head of Public Relations and Media, addressed the controversy in a statement to journalists, clarifying the allegations.
News About Nigeria reported that a viral video surfaced showing a church member claiming to have disarmed four armed robbers and taken possession of an “AK-27” rifle.
The video, which shows a woman testifying about defeating four armed robbers and collecting a pistol she mistakenly called an “AK-27,” gained widespread attention.
During the testimony, a pastor corrected her, saying it was an AK-47.
This incident follows other viral testimonies from the church, including a man claiming that a lion helped him escape captivity.
However, Louis explained that the ‘AK-27’ testimony had been misrepresented, stating that the woman’s story occurred in a dream, not in real life.
“Nigerians should disregard the fake video and visit our church platform to listen to the complete testimony for better understanding. The woman’s story occurred in a dream, not in reality,” Louis said, urging the public not to trust everything they see online.
He further criticised bloggers for editing the content to discredit the church, labeling their actions as “wicked and devilish”.
“Don’t believe everything you see on the internet. Bloggers often edit content to ridicule the work of God. Most of these bloggers are wicked and devilish.” He warned.
The church’s media department also dismissed the viral clip as fake, and the full testimony was shared on the church’s TikTok account to provide clarity.
The trend has sparked widespread social media ridicule, with many users mocking the church.
