Flood: Dantata Donates N2.5bn To Victims In Borno

Oyo Govt Moves To Prevent Flood 

Elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, has donated a sum of N1.5 billion to flood victims in Borno State, to help salvage the damage done to them, News About Nigeria reports.

The business Miguel, made the donation on Tuesday, when he led a delegation from Kano to Government House, Maiduguri.

Recall that flood had recently ravaged some parts of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, causing severe damages, including rendering residents homeless and leading to loss of lives and properties.

Dantata, who shared in the state’s moment of grief, extended his heartfelt condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum, the government, and the people of the state, especially those who lost their loved ones to the flood.

He also lamented the level of economic decline in the country, noting that the citizens are passing through hardships like never before.

He urged the Federal Government and leaders in positions of authority to work towards stopping the deterioration of the economy, adding that they must start doing things with the interest of the citizens at heart.

Dantata further prayed for the peace and harmony of the Borno State and Nigeria at large.

Also speaking, the governor of the state, Babagana Umara Zulum, expressed appreciation to the elder statesman for his compassionate visit, acknowledging that it has served as a beacon of hope and solidarity during moments of grief.

He said, “The people of Borno deeply appreciate this show of magnanimity by a 96-year-old to visit us. Let me announce it: Our Baba has donated the sum of N1.5 billion to support the flood victims.

This is coming shortly after Dantata’s nephew, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, made a donation of N1 billion to the flood victims.
