Powerful People Interested In Mohbad’s Case — Odumosu

Taiwo Odumosu, the head of the Aloba family’s legal team, has revealed why pathologists are refusing to conduct an autopsy on the late Nigerian music artiste Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba.

News About Nigeria reports that Mohbad, who died under mysterious circumstances on September 12, 2023, continues to be the subject of speculation and investigation a year later.

Odumosu revealed to Punch that getting pathologists willing to perform the autopsy has been difficult because they claimed that powerful individuals were involved in the case.

“Getting pathologists to attend to the matter was a bit tough. We got in touch with four pathologists: one from Kaduna, another from Maiduguri and one other place but they said powerful individuals were interested in the matter and declined to take it on.

“We also consulted those in America. However, because of the controversy trailing the first autopsy, we decided to boycott America altogether. For those who agreed to help us now, we thank them. The way to justice is always strewn with thorns. But we have the firm belief we shall get there,” he said.

Mohbad’s death, just two days after a performance in Ikorodu, Lagos, has remained shrouded in mystery.

An initial autopsy at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) suggested a potential drug reaction, noting the presence of diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, in Mohbad’s system.

However, the concentration detected was not considered fatal.

Diphenhydramine is commonly used to treat allergies, stomach ailments, cold symptoms, and anxiety.

Additionally, the autopsy reported an injury on Mohbad’s right forearm, and the body was found to be significantly decomposed.
