Borno Commissioner Dies In His Sleep

The Commissioner of Finance in Borno State, Hon. Ahmed Ali Ahmed, is dead, News About Nigeria reports.

He died in his sleep on Monday.

According to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity, the late commissioner was hale and hearty as of yesterday but passed away in his sleep on Monday.

It was reported that he did not come out at his usual time in the morning.

The commissioner’s wife was said to be out of the state at the time of the incident, which compelled family members to forcefully open his door, only to discover his lifeless body lying on the bed.

“Oga is no more, he died early this morning,” the source stated.

The Borno State Government confirmed the death of Ahmed in a statement on Monday.

The statement from the Commissioner of Information and Internal Security, Professor Usman Tar, in Maiduguri disclosed that the burial is slated for 5:00 p.m. today at the family house of the late commissioner in Damboa Road behind Indimi’s residence.

The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, has lost two members of his cabinet within one year.

In January, Isah Gusau, the special adviser on public relations and strategy to the governor, died after battling a heart ailment.
