Osun To Commence Implementation Of Minimum Wage Soon

The Osun State government has denied any involvement in a N1 billion donation made to the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, clarifying that the contribution was a personal act of philanthropy by Dr. Deji Adeleke, a globally recognised business mogul.

This clarification came from Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the spokesperson for Governor Ademola Adeleke, in response to allegations made by the Osun State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

News About Nigeria reported that the APC had accused Governor Adeleke of misusing state funds by contributing to the church, claiming that the donation was sourced from the state’s treasury.

Mallam Rasheed firmly dismissed these accusations, stating, “The state APC and its operatives have run out of ideas, hence the opposition resorts to barefaced lies and fake news on an event globally live-streamed and a donation personally made by the billionaire father of a billionaire, Dr. Deji Adeleke.”

Rasheed also reminded the public of Dr. Adeleke’s history of charitable contributions, highlighting donations made during the COVID-19 crisis to both the state and federal governments long before Governor Adeleke took office.

“Let us all recall that Dr. Adeleke made substantial donations to the state government under the Oyetola administration during the COVID crisis. Was Governor Adeleke in office then?” Rasheed questioned.

Furthermore, Rasheed criticised the APC’s attempt to stir religious tensions, pointing out that the Muslim community in Osun has benefited significantly from the current administration, citing the near-completion of the state Hajj Camp, a project left unaddressed by the previous government.

“The Osun APC is daily hallucinating as it has become overwhelmed by the superlative performance of Mr. Performer, Governor Ademola Adeleke,” Rasheed remarked, adding that recent press statements from the APC are “silly concoctions from depressed minds.”

Rasheed concluded by reiterating that neither the Osun State government nor the governor made the N1 billion donation, urging the public to ignore the false claims and misinformation being spread by the APC.

“We seek to put this unnecessary debate to rest by clarifying once again that neither the state government nor the state governor donated the said One Billion naira to the Lagos church. The philanthropist who made the donation has made even bigger donations in the past, including to the APC government,” Rasheed affirmed.
