World Class Midfielder Returns To Manchester City

Ilkay Gundogan, a world class midfielder, says he has returned to the best club in the world after re- joining  his previous club, Manchester City.

News About Nigeria reports that Gundogan moved from Barcelona on Friday.

His departure to Barcelona was seen as a huge loss for Pep Guardiola’s side, but his return will undoubtedly boost the team’s chances of success this season.

The former German international won five Premier League titles and the Champions League, among 12 major trophies, during his first spell at City between 2016 and 2023.

In an open letter, Gundogan disclosed this to Barcelona fans, explaining his sudden departure from the club.

The 33-year-old has sealed a return to Manchester City only one year after he left as a free agent.

Gundogan has now revealed that he was forced to leave because of Barca’s financial issues.

“Now I am leaving in a difficult situation, but if my departure can help the club financially, it makes me a bit less sad.

“Nevertheless, it’s been a time with incredible experiences and ups and downs—I always wanted to play at Barça, and I am very grateful for a memory and experience that I will remember for my life.

“I wish you the best for the season and for the future. The fans deserve to get this big club back to the world’s best,” the letter read in part.

Gundogan’s reunion with Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri, and Bernardo Silva will form a formidable midfield quartet, capable of dominating possession and controlling games.
