Aduke Gold: Family Announces Burial Arrangements For Late Gospel Singer

The family of late gospel singer Aduke Gold has announced the schedule for her burial rites, following her death on August 13, 2024.

News About Nigeria reports that the details were shared in an obituary banner released on Saturday, August 17.

A candlelight service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, at Ayanleye Primary School, Idiagbon bus stop, College Road, Ifako Ijaiye, Ogba, starting at 6 p.m.

The following day, Thursday, August 22, an artist night will take place at the same venue, beginning at 6 p.m. and continuing until 6 a.m.

On Friday, August 23, the lying-in-state and burial service will be conducted at Lagos African Church Grammar School, College bus stop, College Road, Ogba, commencing at 9 a.m.

Days after her passing, the family revealed that Aduke Gold succumbed to cervical cancer, countering earlier reports that suggested she died following a fibroid removal procedure.

In an interview with Gbeborun9ja on Thursday, Aduke Gold’s brother, Pastor Aderogbo Ajayi, clarified the cause of her death and urged the public to disregard false information circulating about her illness.

He stated, “She was ill; she had cervical cancer. She was taken to UCH in Ibadan, but unfortunately, she died. We have gotten the death certificate, and whoever is spreading false information should stop. Our daughter was ill; she had cervical cancer, and to the Glory of God, she rested on Monday, the 12th of August.

Pastor Ajayi further noted that the family has planned several events leading up to her burial on August 23.

He stressed that Aduke Gold had been a dedicated choir member who rose to stardom, adding that the family is focused on honouring her memory during the upcoming ceremonies.
