Youth Leaders Warn 'Fake Members' Against Defrauding Nigerians

The Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria (FNYLPPN) has raised an alarm over the activities of some individuals parading themselves as members of the forum and defrauding unsuspecting persons.

In a joint statement issued by the forum’s leadership, they condemned the actions of these imposters, stating that only serving National Youth Leaders (NYL) of political parties are recognised as members of the forum.

The forum warned that these imposters, who are mostly deposed or former youth leaders of political parties, should not be seen as representing the forum or acting on its behalf.

The FNYLPPN commended the government for its handling of recent protests, particularly the Minister of State for Youth Development, Hon. Olawande Wisdom, and security operatives who demonstrated professionalism and patriotism.

The forum emphasised the need for dialogue to address the challenges facing the youth and the nation, and announced plans to mobilise youth structures across the country to engage in dialogue with authorities.

The forum clarified its structure, listing the recognised national youth leaders of various political parties, to avoid confusion and misrepresentation.

The FNYLPPN reiterated its commitment to advancing the cause of the youth in Nigeria through political interventions and announced plans to commence post-protest dialogue and engagements to address the issues raised during the protests.

The forum appealed to the youth to exercise restraint and collaborate towards finding lasting solutions to the challenges confronting them.

It added that the authentic national youth leaders of various political parties can be verified through a simple investigation with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

To avoid confusion, the structure of the forum is as follows: Comrade Bonaventure Akabude [AA], Comrade Nixon Chukwukaodimbu [ADC], Hon. Hauwa Yusuf [ADC], Dr. Dayo Israel [APC], Hon. Tochi Ugoh [APP], Comr. A.M. Yahaya Esq [APM], Hon. Mohammed Umar [BOOT PARTY].

Others include Amb. Mohammed Auwal Musa [NNPP], Comrade Temple Aneidi [NRM], Comrade Olajide Wolimoh [PRP], Comrade Chuma Ogbonna [SDP], Hon. Mohammed Kadade [PDP], Hon. Lucky Akomire [ZLP], Hon. Chigozie Udoze [YPP], Comrade Anslem Eragbe [LP], Comrade Chucks Nwog [APGA], and Hon. Chinazam Ike [ADP].
