President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of four permanent secretaries for the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
The decision comes in anticipation of the upcoming retirement of two permanent secretaries and the establishment of a new Youth Development Secretariat.
The appointments were confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday, August 14, by Anthony Ogunleye, Director of Press at the Office of the FCT Minister.
The newly appointed permanent secretaries include Okeke Joy Chinwe (South East), Ajayi Rotimi Babatunde (South West), and Nathan Nancy Sabanti (North East).
In addition, President Tinubu has formalised the position of the Solicitor-General of the FCT Administration, now designated as Solicitor-General/Permanent Secretary for the Legal Services Secretariat.
The swearing-in ceremony for the new permanent secretaries and the Mandate Secretary for the Youth Development Secretariat is scheduled for Thursday, August 15.
Meanwhile, News About Nigeria reported that Tinubu has arrived in Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea, for a three-day official visit.
On August 13, the presidency announced that the president would depart Abuja for Equatorial Guinea, adding that the trip was at the behest of President Teodoro Obiang Guema Mbasogo.
According to a statement on Wednesday, Ajuri Ngelale, the president’s spokesman, said Tinubu, who arrived at the presidential wing of the Malabo International Airport at about 2.07 p.m., was received by Manuela Botey, the prime minister of the country.
“On arrival at the airport, Tinubu received a brief welcome ceremony, after which he headed to the Presidential Palace, known as People’s Palace Court,” Ngelale said.
“At the People’s Court, there will be a brief ceremony, followed by a family photo, and a military parade, after which he will hold a private meeting with Mbasogo.
“The private meeting between the two presidents will be followed by the signing of bilateral agreements focusing on oil and gas, security, and others.”
He said Tinubu would sign a historic visitors’ book later, after which a press statement would be made available, followed by a dinner to close the day.
