Expect Upward Review In Monthly Allowance After Minimum Wage Implementation, NYSC DG Tells Corps Members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) director-general, YD Ahmed, praised corps members for their role in Nigeria’s growth.

News About Nigeria reports that he acknowledged their efforts in a message on International Youth Day 2024.

Ahmed encouraged corps members to develop skills that would enable them to become entrepreneurs.

This aligns with the government’s goal of promoting self-employment and job creation.

The NYSC has empowered over 3.5 million corps members with skills and knowledge, leading to positive outcomes.

The scheme has also partnered with institutions to provide grants for corps members to start their own businesses.

Ahmed highlighted the success of the NYSC’s skill acquisition programme, which has transformed many corps members into successful entrepreneurs.

He emphasised the importance of security awareness and caution among corps members.

The NYSC has gained international recognition, with Nigeria invited to share ideas at the 2024 International Youth Exchange Programme in India.

Ahmed also said the NYSC has sensitised over 3.5 million corps members on skill acquisition, youth empowerment, and wealth creation, leading to numerous positive outcomes.

He added that the scheme has established partnerships with various institutions that provide grants to help corps members start their own businesses.

“We are taking a giant stride in NYSC, and with skill acquisition, we have turned many corps members into millionaires,” Ahmed said.

The director-general also advised corps members to be security conscious and avoid actions that could put them in danger.

He further mentioned that Nigeria was among 37 countries invited to share ideas with the Indian government at the 2024 International Youth Exchange Programme.

Ahmed also noted that Tanzania recently expressed interest in replicating the NYSC model, with Nigeria promising to support the country in this regard.
