President Bola Tinubu has given his seal of approval for the appointment of seven individuals to lead key agencies and initiatives within the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesperson.
News About Nigeria reports that the appointees are expected to use their expertise and experience to drive the ministry’s objectives forward.
The statement said Dr. Badamasi Lawal, a seasoned educationist with a doctorate degree, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).
His previous experience as a commissioner in Katsina State is expected to serve him well in this new role.
Ms. Funmilola Olotu, with her master’s degree in business administration, has been appointed as the Programme Manager of the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office.
Her experience as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on state lotteries is seen as a valuable asset in this position.
Ms. Aishat Alubankudi, a community development expert with a bachelor’s degree, has been appointed as the programme manager for the Grant for Vulnerable Groups.
Her experience as a risk assessor and financial manager is expected to be beneficial in this role.
Princess Aderemi Adebowale, a holder of a doctorate, has been appointed as the programme manager for the Home Grown School Feeding initiative.
Her experience as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement and her previous role as a local government chairperson is expected to serve her well in this position.
Mr. Abdullahi Alhassan Imam, an accountant with a bachelor’s degree, has been appointed as the programme manager of the National Cash Transfer Office.
His experience as a chief accountant and bank manager is seen as a valuable asset in this role.
Mr. Ayuba Gufwan, a lawyer with an LLB, has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for People with Disabilities.
His experience as the executive director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre, Jos, is expected to be beneficial in this position.
Ms. Lami Binta Adamu Bello, with her master’s degree in public administration, has been appointed as the Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons.
Her extensive experience in various roles, including Secretary-General of ALGON, and Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministries of Health and Women Affairs and Social Development, makes her a strong candidate for this position.
