Omokri Advocates Exit Visa for Nigerians

Special Assistant to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has condemned protesters in Jos for indulging in violence, News About Nigeria reports.

He disclosed this in a statement issued via his verified handle on X on Monday.

He disclosed that protesters in Jos are threatening business owners to close their businesses and join them or face their wrath, adding that it has become thuggery and is no longer a protest.

He condemned the act, maintaining that those involved in the act of violence have become the bad governance they are protesting about.

He added that it is a crime to trespass into people’s businesses and then threaten them forcefully, maintaining that it is terrorism.

“Look at protesters in Jos, threatening business owners to close their businesses and join them or face their wrath. That is no longer a protest. That is thuggery. People who tried that in England received a very rough treatment yesterday. How can you say you are protesting bad governance, and then you are forcing people to protest with you? That means you are the bad governance you are protesting against.

“It is a crime to trespass into people’s businesses and then threaten them forcefully. That is terrorism. Protest if you must, but do not force your will on others. They enjoy freedom of association just like you,” he stated.

Recall that the nationwide planned protest commenced on the 1st of August across the country and has continued despite President Bola Ahmed Tinubu addressing the country on Sunday.
