Pastor Adewale Giwa, the Senior Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming of Jesus Christ Ministry, has expressed his willingness to lead a genuine and meaningful protest against the Nigerian government’s inadequacies.
News About Nigeria reports that in a statement released in Akure, Ondo state, Pastor Giwa said that he has yet to witness a truly genuine protest in Nigeria, suggesting that previous efforts have been compromised or poorly planned.
According to Pastor Giwa, the primary issue with protests in Nigeria is that they often lack sincerity and are easily swayed by financial incentives.
He pointed out that individuals who participate in protests today may still vote for their oppressors tomorrow if offered a mere N5,000.
This, he believes, highlights a deeper problem with the nation’s values and priorities.
Pastor Giwa emphasised the need for a return to Nigeria’s foundational principles to identify and address the root causes of the country’s challenges.
He specifically criticised state governors, labeling them as the true enemies of Nigeria, and questioned their efforts to alleviate poverty in their respective regions.
Addressing President Bola Tinubu directly, Pastor Giwa urged him to take immediate and drastic action to reduce the prices of petroleum and foodstuffs, emphasising that this would be a crucial step in securing a positive legacy.
He cautioned the President against allowing his heart to be hardened and encouraged him to prioritise the welfare of Nigerians.
Nigerians have been protesting in the streets since August 1, as part of the “10 Days of Rage” demonstrations, to express their outrage and demand change against the country’s poor governance.
