The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has expressed concerns about the planned hunger protest scheduled for August 1-10, warning that it may be exploited by criminal elements such as bandits and insurgents, News About Nigeria reports.
Instead of protesting, Akume urged Nigerians to engage with the government through alternative means to ensure the current administration fulfills its promises.
Akume stated that the government is cautious about protests, which can be vulnerable to hijacking by criminals, and suggested dialogue as a more effective approach.
He noted that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration is working to address the country’s challenges and that demonstrations are not the solution.
