Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy has thrilled fans with the unexpected announcement of his seventh studio album, set to drop at midnight.
News About Nigeria reports that the Grammy award-winning artist shared the news via his official X account on Monday, sending waves of excitement across the music community.
The forthcoming album, whose title remains undisclosed, follows closely on the heels of Burna Boy’s celebratory anniversary concert for his critically acclaimed third studio album, ‘African Giant.’
The only hint at the album’s contents so far is the single “Higher,” which fans speculate may either be a featured track or possibly even the album’s title.
“Album dropping 12am,” Burna Boy posted, keeping details under wraps and fueling anticipation among his global fanbase.
This surprise release adds to Burna Boy’s impressive discography, which includes his debut album “L.I.F.E” (2013), his sophomore album “On a Spaceship” (2015), his third album “Outside” (2018), “African Giant” (2019), “Twice as Tall” (2020), and “Love, Damini” (2022).
His career has been marked by a series of hits and critical acclaim, establishing him as a leading figure in the global music scene.
On 10 June 2023, Burna Boy became the first artist from Africa to perform at the UEFA Champions League Final Kick-Off Show by Pepsi.
The singer took the stage at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, in front of more than 71,412 supporters and an audience of over 700 million people.
In July, he became the first African artist to headline and sell out a stadium show in the United States, headlining at Citi Field in New York.
