Yhemolee has captured online attention after proposing to his long-time girlfriend, Thayour, News About Nigeria reports.
The proposal, which took place on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, quickly went viral as Yhemolee got down on one knee to ask for her hand in marriage, to which she joyfully said yes.
The couple, known for keeping their relationship private, recently sent out wedding invitations to their close friends.
One guest shared a clip of the elaborate invitation, which included Asoebi attire, on Snapchat, sparking further excitement.
Yhemolee later confirmed the engagement by sharing a video of the proposal on his Snapchat, where he is seen asking Thayour to be his wife.
The couple is reportedly planning to tie the knot next month in Lagos.
Following the proposal, the couple celebrated with friends. During the celebration, Thayour gave a heartfelt speech, expressing her confidence that she always knew Yhemolee would become her husband.
She acknowledged the unique nature of their relationship and thanked everyone for their support.
Yhemolee’s reaction during her speech, a subtle side-eye, was caught on camera and added a lighthearted moment to the evening.
The engagement comes after a turbulent period in their relationship.
In November 2023, Yhemolee publicly apologised to Thayour for past mistakes, including public humiliation and allegations of cheating, which had led to their breakup.
On her birthday, he took to Snapchat to express his remorse, hoping for forgiveness and a fresh start.
His words read: “First off, it’s World T Day again on Nov 28, I know so many ‘sorries’ might not be enough for the humiliation I made you face earlier this year. I embarrassed you publicly, and it’s just right that I apologise to you as well publicly.
“You didn’t deserve to be treated as such, I have no explanations whatsoever to justify how I treated you but this is me telling the world how sorry I am and I hope you genuinely find a place in your heart to forgive me. I’m so sorry. Happy birthday once again.”
