Blord, a prominent cryptocurrency entrepreneur and technology expert, has been detained, according to reports by Verydarkman (VDM).
This development is the latest in a public confrontation between the two, sparked by accusations from VDM regarding Blord’s customer service practices, News About Nigeria reports.
The conflict began when VDM criticised Mr Jollof, a comic figure, for endorsing Blord’s app, Billpoint, without adequate research.
VDM said that there are complaints from users who claimed that the app often blocked their accounts after funds were deposited, sharing screenshots of messages from dissatisfied customers.
In a post directed at Mr Jollof, VDM wrote, “Mr. Jollof and other influencers, before you collect adverts, always do research. This Blord app, Billpoint, is not entirely what it seems. I have people crying in my DMs, and the guy doesn’t even respond to them. Be careful of that app, be careful of BILLPOINT.”
Blord, viewing these allegations as damaging to his company’s reputation, responded on Instagram, criticising VDM for basing his claims on complaints from about ten people.
The tension escalated when VDM posted a video mocking Blord’s arrest.
In the video, VDM commented on Blord’s prior claims of influence, noting ironically that he was still detained for questioning. VDM stated,
“All you needed to do was fix your customer service, but pride. Tomorrow, they will start with your counts. He who laughs last, laughs best. When you come out, you will be humble. Your pride will come down, and you will be humble.”
VDM claims that a petition he filed against Blord led to the entrepreneur’s arrest.
He further alleged that Blord is currently being held at the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja.
This is not the first time Blord has faced legal issues, with officials reportedly investigating the sources of his wealth.
Similarly, VDM has had his own encounters with the law, having spent time in police custody due to numerous petitions and allegations filed against him.
