My Dad Always Says I'll End My Music Career As A Gospel Singer - Davido

Popular Nigerian Afrobeats singer Davido has revealed that his father always tells him that he will end his music career as a gospel singer.

Davido said this on Tuesday at his wedding with his long-time lover, Chioma Rowland.

Speaking in a now-viral video on social media, Davido said, “I will wake up in the morning and daddy would say, David, I had a vision. I will say Daddy what vision and he will say, I had a vision that you ended your music as a gospel singer.”

Reacting to what Davido said, the Alaga (MC) at the event prayed that his father’s vision would come to pass, saying, “So shall it be in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”

The congregation then echoed a resounding “Amen.”

Reacting to this on Instagram, @qn_jacey concurred with Davido’s father noting that if he becomes a gospel singer, he will win many souls for Jesus Christ.

She wrote, “But if Davido becomes a gospel singer, he will win many souls for Christ.”

Another Instagram user, @nitabure also said, “Daddy is not lying, you will become a gospel singer someday. Somebody shout hallelujah.”

Also, @slashazhandle said, “And over 30 billion souls would be won to Christ when Davido turns to a gospel artist.”

News About Nigeria reported that Davido and Chioma’s wedding shut down the internet today as all social media platforms have been flooded with photos and videos from the couple’s wedding.

Their wedding, which was held in Lagos today (Tuesday), could unarguably pass as the most talked-about event in Nigeria since the year began.
