Nigerian singer Dammy Krane made a surprise appearance at the wedding of music star Davido and Chioma Rowland, despite recently accusing Davido of infidelity and murder.
The wedding, taking place today, saw Dammy Krane share videos from the venue on his Instagram story, claiming he was among the first to arrive and noting the shock of other guests at his presence.
News About Nigeria reported that in the days leading up to the wedding, Dammy Krane had publicly labeled Davido a “murderer” and a “cheat”, mocking the forthcoming nuptials.
He posted a video of Davido and Chioma, stating that, despite Davido’s wealth, he would never find peace.
News About Nigeria reported that these allegations prompted a strong response from Davido’s legal team, who demanded an immediate retraction of the tweets, stating that the claims were defamatory and constituted cyberbullying.
The legal team maintained that Davido had never been charged or convicted of any crime, including murder.
In a letter, Davido’s lawyers stated, “We are informed by our client that you have repeatedly published statements on your social media platforms that he finds not only defamatory and offensive but which also constitute an act of cyberbullying.”
One specific tweet from Dammy Krane, dated June 21, 2024, read: “There’s nothing worse than murder #davido You fit get money but you no fit get peace #Karma. Ps: Don’t ever get married because your girl caught you cheating you wan gbe-iya-wo (Carry suffer look) Congratulations Owe B Owe — Big Daddy Krane.”
Davido’s legal team demanded that Dammy Krane remove the tweet and cease defaming Davido within 24 hours, threatening legal action, including claims for damages and injunctive relief, if the demands were not met.
Dammy Krane appeared unbothered by the lawsuit, responding with further allegations.
In a since-deleted tweet, he wrote, “BTW @policeNG I’m a witness to what Davido did to Tagbo. No peace for the wicked. Justice for Tagbo.”
He also mocked Davido’s legal counsel, suggesting they were simply trying to extort money from Davido.
