#CHIVIDO2024: Peter Obi Congratulates Davido, Chioma On Their Wedding Day

Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State and a prominent political figure in Nigeria, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido and his fiancée, Chioma Avril Rowland, on the occasion of their wedding ceremony.

News About Nigeria reports that the well-wishes came via a tweet from Obi’s official Twitter account.

“On behalf of my family, I most sincerely congratulate @davido and Chioma today as they begin their matrimonial journey with their traditional marriage ceremony,” Obi tweeted.

He further expressed his wishes for the couple’s future, adding, “May God Almighty who has brought them together and this far continue to guide, bless, and prosper their union, and may their love for each other be the foundation on which they build their life together. Amen!”

The wedding, taking place today, June 25, 2024, has already garnered headlines for its star-studded guest list, including former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

Obasanjo, a revered elder statesman and influential figure in Nigerian politics, arrived early, adding a touch of prestige to the celebration.

The Ooni of Ife, resplendent in traditional attire and his beaded crown, was also seen warmly greeting guests.

Governor Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle, was spotted at the venue, bringing a blend of family pride and political prominence to the event.

Davido and Chioma, who have been in the public eye for years, are known for their enduring relationship and shared journey.

In a particularly touching moment, Davido was seen shedding tears during the ceremony.

The moment, captured and shared by label executive Ubi Franklin, shows the couple kneeling before Chioma’s parents at the wedding venue.

Chioma’s father offered a heartfelt prayer for the couple, blessing their union and future.

“David and Chioma, on Christ the solid rock you will stand,” he prayed.

“If you think you have made it, what the Lord will do is almost 10 times what you see. You are blessed in the morning, afternoon, and night. Everywhere you go, there will be light. Anywhere you go where there is confusion, your presence will bring direction.

“You are a solution and never a problem. God is blessing you and will continue to bless you. You are a fountain of blessings to the Adelekes, not disgrace. You have fought battles and God says he has taken over.”

Davido, overwhelmed by the blessings and prayers, was visibly moved, his tears promptly dabbed away by his groomsman.
