The Federal Government has expressed its commitment to transforming the health sector in the country, News About Nigeria reports. 

The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Tunji Alausa, said this at a meeting with the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas in California.

In a statement, the minister noted that the federal government is focusing on creating a conducive environment where healthcare professionals can thrive, innovate, and make a lasting impact.

He also disclosed that Nigeria will be hosting the ANPA conference in 2025.

Speaking on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the event, Alausa stated that the government is determined to bring transformative changes to the health sector, adding that it is committed to implementing policies that ensure accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for every Nigerian.

Against this backdrop, the minister noted that the expertise, knowledge, and experience of doctors in the diaspora are crucial in bridging the gaps and addressing the challenges that the healthcare system of the country faces.

“The new government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is steadfast in its resolve to bring about transformative changes within the healthcare sector. We understand that a robust healthcare system is fundamental to the nation’s development, and we are committed to implementing policies that ensure accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for every Nigerian. Central to this vision is the invaluable role of our professionals in the diaspora, especially ANPA.

“Your expertise, knowledge, and experience are crucial in bridging the gaps and addressing the challenges that our healthcare system faces. He further noted that hosting the ANPA conference in 2025 symbolises the government’s commitment to fostering global partnerships, embracing innovation, and creating an environment where Nigerian professionals can thrive both at home and abroad.
