Ayiri Emami, a prominent Nigerian politician and businessman, has threatened that his community will occupy Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo State following the death of a 200-level student, Alex Timileyi.

News About Nigeria reported that Timileyi was beaten to death by fellow hostel mates over the alleged theft of a phone.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain mentioned that the deceased was a prince in the Uvwie and Warri kingdoms in Delta State.

He demanded justice for the deceased and vowed not to take the law into his own hands for now.

Emami criticised the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and the Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, for their silence and the non-closure of the university following the incident.

He urged Governor Makinde to ensure the case is thoroughly investigated and justice is served.

Speaking in Warri pidgin, Emami said, “Iprobleme, black hour! Itsekiri. Makinde, I hope say you dey hear me anywhere you dey and the minister for education, whether that minister na my Oga boy (Tinubu). E don happen. E don happen. But they must follow this matter to the latter, if not eh. The boy (late Alex) na prince for Warri. Two areas wey no too good (rival areas) combine born the boy.”

Emami expressed his frustration that the university remains operational despite the incident.

“Anybody wey know the minister of information – E be like the school still dey. By now, the school dem suppose don close am. But we no wan take law into our hands but anybody wey know the minister and Seyi Makinde – You need to act fast.”

He warned that if swift justice is not served, his presence will be strongly felt.

“Dem go know me here oo for this pikin wey dem kill for Oyo. I get less talk but we’ll appear in the school. The school will know us. Fine boy like dat? And we never hear from Makinde. Oyo State Government, act fast!” he added.
