Court Slams Kano Govt N10m Fine For Infringing On Right Of Emir Bayero

The 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has appealed to the people of Kano State to remain calm and law-abiding as the royal tussle between him and Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II continues.

Speaking from the mini-palace where he is currently residing, the monarch said that justice will prevail and that no one is above the law, News About Nigeria reports.

In a statement made in Hausa, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero said, “I call on the people to remain law-abiding while awaiting the outcome of the legal process in this tussle. We call on the authorities to do justice in this matter.

“Kano is a very influential state in Nigeria. Whatever affects Kano affects Nigeria. May peace reign in Kano. We pray for Allah to bless Kano with responsible and just leaders. Justice is the way to go on every issue. There will be justice. Nobody is above the law. We will accept whatever the law says.”

The Emir expressed gratitude to those who have shown concern and reiterated his commitment to peace in Kano State.

“As I said, justice will take its course. We will keep on praying for peace in Kano State. May Allah the Almighty protect us,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Kano Government House remains heavily guarded due to the ongoing royal dispute.

Security operatives are strategically positioned around the facility, although movement in and out of the premises remains unrestricted.

Top security operatives who had earlier met with Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero are currently inside the government house for another meeting.

It was earlier reported that Emir Sanusi led Jumat prayers at Government House before moving to the palace, while Ado Bayero arrived in the state and settled into a mini-palace, with military protection provided for him.

Governor Abba Yusuf, who accompanied Emir Muhammadu Sanusi to the palace, is still present at the palace.
