Don't Be Afraid, Your Achievements Are Enough To Get You Support For 2027 Election – Odili Assures Fubara

Former Rivers State Governor, Peter Odili, has once again thrown his weight behind the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, urging him to remain focused on his people-centred objectives.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Omoku-Egbema Road in the state on Saturday, Odili encouraged Fubara not to be apprehensive, as the people of Rivers State are solidly behind him.

Odili, who governed Rivers State from May 1999 to May 2007, stated, “Don’t be afraid, because when the people are with you, be assured that God is with you, and no man can shake you.”

He described Governor Fubara as a humble man of God, whose life reflects the fear of God, and commended him for demonstrating uncommon love for the people of ONELGA, earning their unalloyed support.

News About Nigeria reports that Odili further praised Fubara for prioritising the people in his governance, recognising them as the greatest asset of the state.

He assured that Rivers people will continue to rally behind the governor, as he is trustworthy and has shown commitment to their well-being.

With the next election still far away, Odili believes that Fubara’s achievements, particularly in the ONELGA area, have secured the people’s support for him at all times.

Governor Fubara, in his address, reiterated his administration’s commitment to putting the Rivers first and addressing the critical development challenges of the people.

He mentioned that his government will not make unfulfilled promises but will ensure that every project is executed within its capacity to deliver on schedule.

Fubara noted that the commissioning of the dualised Omoku-Egbema road is a testament to his administration’s ability to deliver impactful projects, even those considered impossible.

He assured that every part of the state will benefit from key projects aimed at uplifting the standard of living of the people.

The governor thanked the people for their support during and after the elections and promised to complete the remaining 300 metres of the road connecting the state to Imo State.

He also announced that work will resume at the abandoned Zonal hospital, Omoku, within a week.

It is worth noting that Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, have been embroiled in a protracted conflict over the past year.

Wike governed Rivers State from May 2015 to May 2023.

In April, Wike, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stated that he no longer had a smooth relationship with Odili, whom he had previously referred to as his “father.”
