I took Junior Pope Like My Brother But He Stabbed Me At The Back - Yul Edochie

Popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has said that he has forgiven his late colleague, John Paul Odonwodo popularly known as Junior Pope whom he accused of backstabbing him.

News About Nigeria had reported that Yul revealed that he didn’t attend Junior Pope’s burial or mourn him on social media because the late actor whom he treated like a brother repeatedly betrayed him while he was alive.

However, in a post on his official Instagram account on Wednesday, Yul revealed that he no longer holds any grudge against his late colleague as he has forgiven him.

Speaking further, he tasked Nollywood actors and actresses to embrace love and unity among themselves.

He also warned against pulling others down on social media just to gain views and likes.

His post partly reads, “Speaking about forgiveness, I forgive him completely. It hurts deeply when a friend you love, took like a brother, stood for and shown love over the years turns around to stab you in the back repeatedly without remorse. Sadly that’s the world we live in. Humans are filled with flaws. To err is human, but to forgive is divine. I forgive him & wish his family the very best.

“Dear Nollywood & humanity, I hope this serves as a wake-up call. Life is short & unpredictable. None of us will be here forever. Let us bring back love and unity amongst us. You gain nothing by trying to bring another person down. In this era of social media & monetized pages, resist the urge to use another person’s pain to create content or to trend.”
