On Tuesday, veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie mourned Nollywood actor, John Paul Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope who died in a tragic boat mishap that happened at Anam river in Anambra state few weeks ago.
News About Nigeria reported that Junior Pope died alongside four others on their way back from Adanma Luke’s ‘Another Side of Life’ movie shoot.
The crew were said to have travelled on the river without life jackets or any other life saving instrument.
In a video posted on his official Instagram account, Edochie noted that Junior Pope was a gift to the entire world, not only the movie industry.
He also noted that Pope’s death came as a rude shock to him as he is yet to recover from the tragedy.
Edochie, however, prayed for the repose of the soul of the Junior Pope.
The veteran actor also tasked Nigerians that their primary responsibility is to pray that his soul rest in peace and not to push out different narratives on social media.
He said, “I want to make a general appeal. Let us pray to the Almighty God to accept the soul of Junior Pope, and cut out all the nonsense we have been putting out on social media. Let us allow this young man’s soul to rest. I am making an appeal as a father, please.”
Edochie also appreciated E-Money and every other person who has pledged their support for the family of the deceased and for the training of his three sons.
