President Tinubu Makes Fresh Appointments

President Bola Tinubu has named Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the new Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA).

Prince Ebitimi Amgbare has also been appointed as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA), News About Nigeria reports.

According to a statement by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale, Dr. Barikor is a seasoned academic and politician who served in the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015. Prince Amgbare, on the other hand, is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State.

The President has charged the new appointees to discharge their duties with the utmost dedication to the nation and to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria.

These appointments come after the earlier appointment of Mr. Jim Ovia, CFR, as Chairman of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

Mr. Ovia, a respected business leader and founder of one of Nigeria’s leading banks, has a strong track record of empowering young Nigerians and holds an MBA from the University of Louisiana and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School.

Tinubu, who is away from the country, is on an official visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The president had a meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte at the Catshuis in The Hague, on Thursday.

In the meeting with the Prime Minister, Tinubu exposed Nigeria’s immense opportunities across various sectors, including solid minerals.

He said Nigeria is a key player in powering Europe’s clean energy future, with the country’s high-grade lithium deposits.

The president said his administration is committed to deepening reforms to enhance the investment climate and is seeking balanced and mutually beneficial partnerships.
