The board registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, has announced that those involved in JAMB fraud have been dealt with, News About Nigeria reports.
He disclosed this while speaking during the monitoring exercise at the JAMB Professional Centre in Bwari on Friday.
He noted that the board has been able to successfully curb fraud in the examination for the first time this year after trying for the past seven years.
Oloyede revealed that it was discovered that some of the candidates gave their details to fraudsters, but expressed joy that the security agencies have helped put an end to it.
“Today’s examination is very important to us because we have done so much engineering that we have been trying to do in the last seven years and we are only successful about it today for the first time.
“Those who are fraudsters, who are doing all sorts of things, they know they are in trouble because, for the first time, we are able to do certain things that we have been aspiring to do,” he stated.
Oloyede further assured the people that those who have been involved in examination fraud have been dealt with and are out of their place, adding that the examination is going on smoothly.
He applauded the public, especially parents for their smooth conduct, noting that parents usually cause problems for students in previous exercises.
“Everything appears to be going well. We want to thank the public for heeding our advice because it appears everybody is doing what they are expected to do.
“Things will move smoothly if parents can keep away. They are the ones constituting problems for the students but you can see everything is going well,” he added.
