Mrs. Atinuke Oguntunde has etched her name in history by becoming the first female registrar of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), as announced in a press release issued by the university’s Public Relations’ Officer, Ademola Adesoji, on Friday.
Alongside Mrs. Oguntunde, two other key appointments were disclosed: Mr. Muideen Lasisi, appointed as the 3rd substantive Bursar, and Dr. Olugbenga Adewuyi, appointed as the 3rd substantive University Librarian.
These appointments were approved by the Governing Council during its special meeting on Friday, following the completion of selection processes and recommendations from the Selection Panel.
Mrs. Oguntunde’s appointment marks a historic moment after 18 years since the establishment of the university.
The institution, established by the Osun State Government in 2006, has previously had two substantive male Registrars.
Adesoji said that Mrs. Oguntunde’s extensive experience and leadership qualities, having previously served as the Deputy Registrar and College Secretary at the University’s College of Health Sciences made her fit for the role.
She holds academic qualifications including a B.A. in English Education from the University of Ilorin and an M.A. in Literature in English from the same institution.
Mr. Muideen Akintayo Lasisi, previously a Deputy Bursar at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), brings over two decades of experience in finance and accounting to his new role.
His academic credentials include an HND in Accountancy from Osun State Polytechnic, a B.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Lagos, and an M.Sc. in Entrepreneurship from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
Dr. Olugbenga Wale Adewuyi, appointed as the University Librarian, is recognised for his scholarly contributions and dedication to advancing library sciences and administration.
He holds academic qualifications such as a B.A. in Dramatic Arts from Obafemi Awolowo University, an M.Sc. in Library Studies from the University of Ibadan, and a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from Babcock University.
