Dismissing circulating rumours, Caroline Celico, ex-spouse of Brazilian football icon Ricardo Kaká, refutes claims of ending their marriage due to his perceived perfection, News About Nigeria reports.
This past week, the 2007 Ballon d’Or winner and former AC Milan star has been in the news over details surrounding his divorce from Caroline Celico.
Speculations had arisen on social media following a recently circulated fake quote alleging that Celico cited Kaká’s perfection as the reason for their split.
Taking to her Instagram page to address the misinformation, Celico said the report was false and fake.
Celico clarified that their separation was a mutual decision, and they continue to co-parent their two children.
She expressed gratitude for her past experiences, adding that she and Kaká have an amicable co-parenting arrangement for their children.
Celico, however, announced that she is expecting the arrival of her first child with her new husband, Eduardo Scarpa Julião.
They got married on September 25, 2021, in São Paulo.
“For those who haven’t heard from me for a long time… or have never heard before. And are UNFORTUNATELY hearing some fake news and FAKE quotes. Let me update you:
“I got divorced almost 10 years ago, from those 14 years of relationship, there are 2 lovely teenagers.
“It’s been almost 8 years. I am with my husband Eduardo, and we are having our first child next month.
“I have a lot of respect for my lifetime story, and I am very grateful for everything I have lived so far. My ex-husband and I found a healthy way to raise our children, and I’m so grateful for this.”
Kaká and Celico tied the knot in December 2005, and their union produced two children: Luca Celico Leite (born June 10, 2008) and Isabella Celico Leite (born April 23, 2011).
After a decade of marriage, they went their separate ways without disclosing the reason for their divorce.
