The family of the makeup artist, Abigail Frederick, who died in the boat mishap that claimed the life of popular Nollywood actor, Junior Pope and other crew members have buried her at the bank of the river where they drowned.

Abigail’s body was recovered yesterday together with the body of the camera assistant, who was simply identified as Friday.

The crew, however, noted that the sound engineer in the production is still missing as his body has not been recovered.

News About Nigeria reports that, Abigail is the only one that has been buried among the four bodies that was recovered from the tragic boat mishap that happened at the Anam River in Anambra State which has a connection with River Niger.

The funeral arrangements for the rest of the deceased crew members have not been concluded yet.

Explaining why her burial was quick, Movie director, Moses Eskor, revealed that her father chose to bury her that way because he could not provide the money needed for some traditional rites to get her body shipped back to her home state.

He further noted that although her family and friends tried to raise some money, it was not enough to carry out the traditional rites demanded.

News making the rounds on social media is that for the families of the deceased to have full custody of their bodies and bury them without suffering any consequences from ‘water spirits,’ they will have to perform some traditional rites that will cost them over N30 – 40 million.

It can be recalled that the tragic incident happened on Wednesday when the crew members were returning from the set of the movie, ‘Another side of life,’ which was produced by Adanma Luke.
