The decision was contained in a statement by the President of the AGN, Emeka Rollas, which was released on Thursday.
The body also noted that to mourn the dead, there should be no shooting today (Thursday) in any location in the country.
The statement also noted that the movie they were shooting, ‘The Other Side of Life’, which led to the deaths of Pope and other crew members, is suspended indefinitely.
Rollas also prayed that the souls of the departed rest in peace, adding that the search is still ongoing for three other crew members.
The statement reads, “Following the tragic incident of a boat mishap that claimed the lives of Junior Pope and three other crew members at the waterside of River Niger Cable point Asaba on April 10, all films that involve riverine areas and boat riding are hereby suspended indefinitely.
“There should be no shoot on all locations nationwide on Thursday, April 11, 2024. The film titled ‘The Other Side of Life’ is suspended indefinitely. Also, no actor is allowed to work with Adamma Luke as a producer until further notice. While we keep searching for the bodies of the remaining persons, may their souls rest in peace.”
Recall that the tragic news of the boat mishap broke yesterday evening, although, it was followed by reports that Pope was still alive which was confirmed by Rollas.
